but not the way that I do love you.
TOMATO, THE HUBS. (with a little Zero, the dragon)
Well, Tomato had his surgery today (a hernia repair for those who wanted to know). We went in about 0600 and they got him all checked in. I think he made it to the OR around 0700 and started the procedure around 0730. He finished up around 0900. They recovered him about 2 hours. He's doing fine now, was in a bit of pain when he initially got to the second recovery room but it was muted with 2 Percocet. I think it's the first time the Marine Corps has given him anything stronger than Motrin. Bless his heart.
He's been good though, he's at home resting now. I think Zero knows something is up because he's not being as rough and/or hyper as usual. He's just laying in the bed next to daddy. Daddy has a nice 4-5 inch incision. Tomato really lucked out with a nurse wife.
I had to take his CON leave paperwork to New River after the procedure which seems pretty ridiculous to me. They should have let him do that BEFORE they cut him open. I mean, what happens with guys who aren't married or don't have friends in the area yet? Whatever.
So yeah, Tomato has two weeks off work. Except he's kind of bitter because all he wants to do is shoot his bow.
SARAH, THE SISTER.
Sarah had her baby shower yesterday. It was great fun, I think I gorged myself on Petit Fours, among other delicacies. She made out with a crap ton of baby swag. I'm pretty sure that Mr. Colin Edward has almost everything he needs or desires. Which is a good thing, since he's about to bust out of the womb any day now. I can't believe the next time I go home, he'll be in my arms and not in Sarah's tummy.
I also had fun eating at Salsarita's and sharing music with her and Ryan. It was a good experience all 'round. Not to mention the whole 5 seconds I saw Mr. Dan. Also, Ms. Linda and I had a "funny photo shoot." :)
I can't wait to watch Sarah and Ryan embark on their most excellent adventure yet.
ASHLEY, COMMANDING OFFICER.
I, on the other hand, am completely happy and stressed out at the same time. I want to go home so bad it hurts but can't imagine going without Tomato. I'm soon to start studying for the GRE and going to graduate school. I'm ready for that, I just don't know if I wanna do it here. Nothing about East Carolina University or UNC-Wilmington really screams..."Please come to our school!" I guess it's more or less they aren't my school...my USC. I just don't want a degree from NC, as stupid as that seems.
It's going to be a positively stressful week. What, with Tomato's surgery and work...and stupid traffic court tomorrow. Wish me luck.
Album of the Week

Hope he recovers from his surgery quickly! :) And I love that album. I sing that song on long car trips. Perfect song for summer.
