Boy I'll be flying overhead
Their heavy words can't bring me down
Boy, I've been raised from the dead
ASHLEY, COMMANDING OFFICER.
It's been an eventful week or so. Saturday we celebrated Colin's first birthday party. I've just been so overwhelmed lately with how quickly time passes. I can't believe my youngest nephew has already been on this earth a year. I can't over-exaggerate how awesome it is to have the privilege of being his aunt...and it really is a privilege considering how I came to be his aunt. Considering everything that has had to happen for me to even be apart of his life. Somethings are just meant to be, I guess.
...and then there was cake.
So, after Colin turned into the purple cake monster he took a bath, he was one year older, one year wiser and has now got to tackle the fine art that is walking properly. I can't wait to see what milestones he'll accomplish this year.
It has been exactly 8 days since my last logon to facebook. I can't say that I've missed it too much. I mean, sometimes out of boredom my pointer will go to click the facebook bookmark on my computer and then I realize that I've deleted it. All for the best. I've accomplished an immense number of chores around the house, read two books and started having a Harry Potter marathon with Christal and Lauren since they both are Potter virgins. I appreciate that they don't laugh at me when I'm geeking out.
Also, today, for the first time since I can remember when...I had a lazy day. I literally slept till 9 am, finished a book, took a nap, got dressed, did a little shopping and then had dinner with my mother. A good thing though, because tomorrow is going to be the first a four shifts in the ER in a row. I have high hopes though.
TOMATO, THE HUBS.
After Colin's birthday celebration we went down to Tomato's home town of Moncks Corner and had a Super Bowl/Homecoming party. It was fun and Zero had the time of his life.
I'm glad that Tomato had the chance to catch up with his friends and family members. The woods isn't exactly my cup of tea, however, if it makes Tomato happy.
He went back to North Carolina on Tuesday morning and so starts our dreaded long distance marriage. I have every confidence in us and our ability to keep a good thing going.
As always, I'm hopeful for what our future holds and am excited to see where life continues to take us.
ZERO, THE DRAGON.
Besides the obvious running around at the hunting club, Zero has some exciting news!
He's getting a puppy!
Yes, we will see by adopting a baby Dachshund and naming him Cid (pronounced Sid). A little known fact is that Zero's actual AKC honest to God name is: "Zero'd in on Carolina". So, to make life fair we're naming the new puppy Cid after the good 'ol "Citadel."
Well, that about does it for now. Hopefully I'll have some interesting epiphanies to share later on.
What I just finished reading.
It's about survival.
Kind of a post apocolyptic scenario where the US as we know it is divided into 12 districts.
As punishment for a past rebellion
each district must sacrifice two of it's children
to an area
to fight to the death.
The is quite possibly my second favorite book series of all time.
It's the best thing since Harry Potter.
Do yourself a favor and read this series.
This is the third time I have this year.
I give it a 10/10.
