I tell you I want you

I'll tell you I need you
The blood ain't on my hands

ASHLEY, COMMANDING OFFICER.
Well it's been a hot minute, and I can't tell you that I have more to say or that I have an epic update...because I don't. When I last updated I had just gone to the fair, not much has really happened since then. That is, with the exception of being sick the last few days...but what's the fun of talking about that?

I've not done much except lay low. Not that I really have or need to lay low, it's just time to take a break and "stay-cation" for a minute. I've been working, working out, writing emails, chillin' with the homies and enjoying being 24 years young.

I still love my husband. I still love my family. I still love my dog. I still love my job.

I've taken a good look 'round the past week or so and have begun to fully appreciate the blessings that surround me. I hope you can too. "Stop complaining about what you don't have, and start being grateful for what you do have." I'm really trying my damnedest to live by that motto these days. It's so easy to get caught up in the "woe is me" attitude. Someone, somewhere is always going to have it worse. It really can always be worse. It really can, I see it all the time.

I need to pay something forward soon. Yeah, I think I will.

TOMATO, THE HUBS.
...getting closer and closer. I can't believe that he's been gone almost 6 months. Half a year. I can't wait to see his face. It's been a real wake up call not having him home all the time. He's always the person who anchors me down, pulls me back to earth when things get heavy and when the stress seems like it's going to be too much. He's rock solid. He's level headed, open-minded, optimistic, generous and selfless. He's everything I want to be, and for some reason he loves me. I swear that I'm the luckiest girl in the world. You might think that you are (if you're a girl), but you're not...because I am.

THE house is really coming along. I can't believe next month we'll be closing. Well, if all goes according to plan. It's so beautiful. I can't wait to really start our lives together. It's going to be an epic adventure. It may not always be happy or pretty, but we'll have a real home. Just keep your fingers crossed that everything continues to go as planned.

Here's the house, taken from my iPhone.

ZERO, THE DRAGON.
Everyone keeps saying that Zero is going to need a playmate. I agree, as long as said playmate is another dog.

He's grown quite attached to the bulldogs and is always around them. He curls up with them on the couch, eats with them, plays with them and even fights with them. Perhaps he'll get a smaller brother or sister once everything is settled. However, that's a different discussion for a different day.

The Dictionary of Ashley

Awesome Sauce (adg./n.): a phrase that's kind of interchangeable with epic (see previous post). It means that something is great and wonderful and awesome.

Example:
Joe: "OMG, I got the high score on Pacman!"
Me: "Awesome sauce!"

Song of the Day:
Clubfoot by Kasabian
