the past is never far
ASHLEY, COMMANDING OFFICER.
...is just tired and stressed. So Tomato is deploying. The cat's out of the bag. I've never been so sad and confused. I know that I should have expected it, but I've never fully prepared myself. There was no indication that this was going to happen, especially this soon. At one moment we are planning for the Summer and toying with the idea of buying a house and what our future plans are. The next moment...I get a phone call, and he's leaving.
He's leaving very soon actually. Sooner than I initially imagined.
There are a lot of things to talk about, a lot of loose ends to tie up, errands to run, a lot of decisions have to be made. I've got some choices and I have to think about each of them very carefully before setting on my course. All this would be easier if he were staying.
I'm just...sigh. I thought I would be perfectly fine with this when it happened. Right now. I don't know how to handle it. I just don't want to talk to anyone. Mr. Dan called me earlier and I just broke down, I broke down with Sarah and struggled through a conversation with Ms. Linda. By the time Tomato called me, I was just tired...just tired. I'll get through this though. I have a wonderful support system.
TOMATO, THE HUBS.
...is deploying. Obviously.
He is such a wonderful man. I can't imagine how much I'm going to miss him. I know he'll miss me just as much. This is going to be hard on both of us.
He has been deployed before, but came home from that about a week before we met. This will be a new experience for both of us.
ZERO, THE DRAGON.
It's Zero's birthday today. He's 2! I can't believe how quickly time has flown by. This means that it's been almost two years since I took my NCLEX, graduated college and started my first "big girl job."
We didn't celebrate properly today, but when Tomato gets home we are going to throw him a little party. :) I know, we're lame. We know it.
Happy 2nd birthday to my sweet dragon. I love you tons.
