I have five clocks in my life

and only one has the time right
i’ll just unplug it for today

Funny story today about a patient.

I'm taking care of an elderly patient today, one that lives happily in his own little world. He just seemed like a curmudgeon and wouldn't let anyone do anything for him. Suddenly and without warning he has his first coherent conversation with me.

Me: "I'm just trying to help you."
Pt: "What kind of trainin' do you have little girl?"
Me: "I'm a Bachelor Degree prepared Registered Nurse."
Pt: "Oyeah?"
Me: "Yeah.:
Pt: "Well you're selling yourself short, you could be doin' a lot more than wiping my ass. You're too smart for that."
Me: "..."

Anyway, sometimes patients make you stop and think. This man went on about being confused and curmudgeonly and later forgot he was my friend and tried to suffocate me with a pillow.
