Can we talk about tomorrow, and the promise that it brings?

I wanna be your crystal baller, I want to show you everything.

ASHLEY, COMMANDING OFFICER.
...has been a baking queen. Yesterday I made garlic cheddar biscuits AND baklava. My experience with phyllo dough was limited before this encounter. However, I must say that my baklava turned out "nostimos!" Look that one up and take it as a foreign language lesson. Haha.

So today, I've just been sitting around enjoying my last day off before work starts back. It's so funny that when I know I have a few days off to look forward to, I am completely at ease. I cook, clean, take the dog out and never feel a speck of stress. It's the day before work starts that I start feeling all hyperextended and stressed out. Like today for instance, I can't even find the energy to do a dang thing in the house. I just want to veg out and relax. I spend the whole day wondering what I will do with it, and then when I finally decide...it's already so late in the day. It's just incredibly exhausting because when I get to work tomorrow morning, I'll be completely fine. I think everything that I felt already is just magnified because Tomato is leaving for CA so soon. This is my last day to spend with him before he leaves and I'm just sitting in the house, waiting for him to get off work.

TOMATO, THE HUBS.
...is work work work...and no play. He needs to watch out though, all work and no play makes Tomato a dull boy. RED RUM!! Haha.

Anyway, tick tok.

ZERO, THE DRAGON.
...just had his food changed to Blue Buffalo, except I think we sort of made his transition too quickly. He had a bit of a bowel problem the other night. SO, I went out and bought more of his old stuff to mix the new stuff in with gradually and that's helping. We switched him because he wasn't eating his old stuff. We would pour him a bowl and he would just walk away, sometimes letting it sit there for days. With this new food he is gobbling it down so fast that my head spins, and still wants more!

He is enjoying his evening walks now that the weather is getting warmer. I enjoy them too, and it's kind of motivating to have to walk him...makes me feel like I have to get out and do it, no matter how much I fight myself.

Anyway, here's something a little different that I may start doing.

RECIPE FOR GARLIC CHEDDAR BISCUITS.
2 cups Bisquick
1 cup thick grated cheddar cheese
1/2 tsp garlic powder
2/3 cup milk
1/4 tsp garlic salt
1 tsp oregano
2 tbsp melted butter

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Mix together Bisquick, cheese and garlic powder.
Add in milk, mixture will be thick.
Spoon onto greased/non stick cookie sheet.
Bake 13 minutes.
Mix butter, garlic salt and oregano.
Brush mixture onto tops of biscuits immediately after coming out of oven.
*Yeilds about 13-15 biscuits.

Nom!
